The market where everything changes hands.
Al Haraj is the Arabic word for the market where goods are sold on, haggled over and passed from one owner to the next. It is the oldest kind of trade there is, and it is what we do.
What we actually do
People leave the UAE. Offices close. Homes get emptied. When that happens, someone has to decide what a life's worth of objects is worth — and most of the time that person has a flight booked in ten days and no idea where to start.
That's where we come in. We buy the contents: the art on the wall, the dining table, the watch in the drawer, the tools in the garage, the outboard parts in the storeroom. One visit, one price, one payment. Then we clean it, photograph it, price it and find it a second owner — here in the UAE or anywhere in the world.
Nothing here is mass stock. Almost everything on this site is a single piece that came out of a real home, and when it's gone, it's gone.
Who's behind it
Al Haraj is run by Martin Nogiec, a German-trained industrial mechanic who has spent years in the UAE trading, refurbishing and moving equipment — first commercial gym equipment, now everything else with value.
We work out of our own warehouses in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah, with our own transport. That is why we can take the wardrobe and the sofa when other buyers only want the handbag.
We tell you what we know and what we don't. If we can't confirm that something is authentic, we say so and price it that way — we don't guess in our favour, and we won't guess in yours.
How we price
Second-hand pricing is not a mystery. A piece is worth what someone will pay for it today, in this market, in this condition. We look at what comparable pieces actually sold for, subtract what it costs us to collect, store, clean and ship it, and quote from there.
If you think we're wrong, tell us. We would rather lose a deal than argue about one.
Buying from us
Every listing describes the condition honestly, including the marks and the wear. What you see in the photographs is what arrives. Collection from our warehouses is free; we deliver across the UAE and ship smaller pieces worldwide.
For anything you're unsure about — the fit of a marine part, the size of a table, the state of a frame — message us before you buy. We would rather answer five questions than process one return.
Selling to us
Send photos on WhatsApp, get a price the same day, and we collect from you anywhere in the UAE. You are paid on collection. If you would rather keep the option open, ask about our fourteen-day buyback when you sell.
